Tenants demand self-ruleToronto Star - August 2, 1975 A nation-wide rents scale and self-rule in Canada's public-housing developments are among demands facing Barney Danson, urban affairs minister when he arrives in Toronto tonight for a tenants' convention. Danson, MP for York-North, is guest speaker at the four-day 1975 convention of the Candian organization of Public Housing Tenants, being held at York Universy campus. The organization, which aims to represent a third of Canada's 500,000 public housing tenants by the end of the year, is pressing to win a better deal for its members, president Joe McKeown said in an interview yesterday.
